STEEL FABRICATION

With 19,300m² of combined facilities, we offer great flexibility to complete any steel project. Our facilities include a modern and well-equipped workshop in Christchurch extending to more than 14,800m² and a further 4500m² at our workshop in Timaru.

Our Christchurch facility consists of a large fabrication workshop, a purpose-built heated paint shop, and a draughting office, and all our workshops include state-of-the-art fabrication machinery capable of running multiple shifts to meet demand.

SHOP DRAWINGS AND DETAILING

Our in-house team of over 12 dedicated draughting professionals offers full shop drawing services on all projects. We utilise Tekla Structures, the most advanced structural steel 3D modelling and detailing software, to deliver the highest level of accuracy. This enables us to successfully deliver complex and difficult design needs while also providing an excellent platform for coordination, problem-solving, planning, and sequencing the construction works.

Our 3D models are available for you to share with any other contractors or interested parties during the shop drawing and construction phases. They are also used extensively in our design and construction meetings to provide absolute situational clarity, which you otherwise wouldn’t obtain from simple 2D drawings.

During peak demand, we can also call upon our local network of contract draughting services.

SURVEYING

We operate an in-house surveying team, utilising a Trimble Robotic Total Station (RTS) to capture and validate the location of the as-built steel structure during the erection phases. The RTS has proven to be a highly regarded field instrument that provides us with exceptional data.

This 3D survey data can be made available to you and forms the basis of as-built QA drawings if required, depending on your project needs.

TRANSPORT

Our transport fleet is second to none, complete with piloting vehicles to allow transportation of large loads 24 hours a day. To avoid site congestion, we’re also able to operate a ‘just in time’ delivery method.

Our specialist hoisting and lifting gear allows the uplifting of materials and distribution around the site as required, and the proximity of our workshops to main arterial transport routes ensures prompt delivery.

SITE ERECTION
